Beef jerky, SlimJims with cheese, dried fruit, small cans of fruit or pudding, powdered Gatorade or other drinks to add to water, dry soups, cookies (Oreo Cakesters are a big hit), twizzlers, starbursts, tootsie rolls, suckers, crackers, gum, mints, nuts, trail mix, sunflower seeds. NO SOFT CHOCOLATE CANDY.
Chapstick, eye drops, Q-tips, wet wipes, nail clippers, puzzle books, magazines, small size (4 oz) toiletries, Gold Bond foot powder, “dry” socks (that whisk sweat away from the feet).
Sara’s family tries to send a lot of goodies because she shares them with her 200 plus fellow soldiers, many of whom don’t get care packages. Feel free to send along a note or card and introduce yourself to Sara, let her know how much you appreciate her service to our country!
The Post Office has some priority mail boxes at no charge, which mail for $8.95 each no matter how much they weigh. Suggestion: use the bags of starburst and tootsie rolls as packing material!
